We do a regular series on Instagram called #PrestonPeople where we feature a local person, group, or business.
This time, we had the pleasure of chatting with Claire, the talent behind Who What Claire Art – your local source for awesome prints & more!
Read on to learn more about Claire…
Society1: Tell us a bit about you and what you do:
WWC: I’m Claire and I design colourful art prints and greeting cards inspired by some of my favourite music. I work in a marketing and advertising role, then spend my evenings and weekends creating new designs and trading at local markets in and around Preston.
Society1: What do you love about being based in Preston?
WWC: I was born & raised here in Preston and I really am a home bird! I used to spend a lot of time travelling for work pre-covid, but always loved to come back home. There’s just something about the people and community here. There are some amazing indie shops, bars, and cafes. We have a brilliant university here too!
Society1: Where do you find inspiration for your work? What’s your favourite piece you’ve made to date?
Society1: What is your “go-to” local business in Preston?
WWC: There are so many to choose from, but at the moment I’m loving Cafune and Rise for brunch or lunch, Plau for dinner and drinks, and Coco’s for a takeaway!
Creations Gifts and Crafts on Cannon St is also a great place to buy from independent businesses – you can find some of my prints stocked there!
Thanks for chatting to us, Claire! Be sure to follow Claire on social media to keep up with what she’s up to and where she’s popping up throughout the city!
