Preston People: Reasm One

Reasm One, Mural Artist

We do a regular series on Instagram called #PrestonPeople where we feature a local person, group, or business. This time, we had a chat with Reasm One, a Preston-Based mural artist and creator of the talk of the town – the city’s newest mural, “Mother.”

Located on the side of Hogarth’s on Church Street, Mother is an absolutely amazing large-scale mural celebrating Preston.

Read on to learn more about Reasm One and what he does:

Society1: Tell us a bit about you and what you do:

RO: I’m Reasm One, a mural artist based in Preston. For the past 5 years, I’ve focused on internal murals within the hospitality industry. Traveling up and down the whole of the UK.

Society1: What do you love about being based in Preston?

RO: It might sounds strange to say, but I love how small we are and how behind we are as a city. I say this because it gives us so much room to grow. The best is yet to come.

Society1: Tell us about your newest mural, Mother.

RO: ‘Mother’ is based on our crest. Taking all of the elements of the crest, I tried to create something that the city can call theirs.  Something we can all be proud of and talk about when people ask us about Preston. The response has been amazing, I have really felt a buzz from the community. Thank you. I can’t wait to do more.

Society1: What is your dream project?

RO: My dream project would be to paint the massive concrete unicenter opposite the bus station, from top to bottom. Who do I talk to?

Society1: What is your “go-to” local business in Preston?

CG:  Priest Town Brewing for the weekend supplies. And if I ever have time to sit and eat it would be at Jaffa’s.

Thanks so much for sharing with us!
